Went to grandmum and grandpa today, have been helping them to take away weeds in their pathway. We got all the way from the road to the house stairs. But its lots left to do!! Oh yes lots, that part we did is maybe just 1/4 of all pathway she got.

We could have been coming longer if we should not eat all the time....

When I got there we drank coffe and bun. Three hours later we ate lunch, homemade meatballs with potatos. MmmmMmm! Dessert was blackberry in garden on way back to work. Then after a hour or two it was time for coffe break again. But after that we were so tired so we dident feel like doing something more!

And she askes what I want for the help I did them! But Dear grandmum, I dont want anything, I got so much food and good memories out of this so no money.

I wish everyone spent time with their grandparents!

One day they will not be there for you when you need them the most!

Welcome to Bayram Eid Al-Fitr also called Seker Bayrami.

The bayram that muslim celebrate the end of ramazan. If I should have been in Turkey right now, we should right in this momnet have been eating breakfast. Other relatives should have been joining us.

This day, the first day of Eid Al-fitr is the most importent day of them three. Yes this bayram is not just one day not it can be up to three- four days.

It have been made big preperation for this day, every where have been cleand, curtains have been changed, a new kolonya have been bought, also lamb, lokum, tatli, türk kahve and not to forget the BIG cay brewer is taken up.

This day kids maybe have there newest clothes, woman have there best dress and men a shirt of good quality.

Yes its fiesta in the air!

Relatives, relatives relativ, neighbors and the friends are coming to visit eachother. The young people are visiting the old. Kids are kissing them older on there hand, showing respect and for that they resive money. So if you are smart you can get alot of money.

So for me that are living with Gökhan and his grandparents, well we have guests all day. But they just stay between 5-20 min, just so they can sit down get there lokum and ask how grands are feeling. Us younger woman are in kitchen serving.

But if they are gonna visit all these people thay dont have much time...

Not like here in Sweden when we at least stay for 30 min. Drink coffe or stay over lunch. No no but not in Turkey!

Last year I had no idea how a bayram was gonna be. But I learnd so the last day it was me serving kolonya and lokum. Hard part is which you should start with and then try to go down in age...not so easy when you dont know relatives relativ.

I will miss the feeling to be together, see everyone and all that food (not lamb!!) and other great thinks...

Lokum is so good, its like marmelade but more like gelatine consistenc and inside can be diffrent nuts, like dates, pistachios and hazelnuts or walnuts. On outside dusted with flour, icing sugar, copra, or powdered cream.

Kerebic, one of the best tatli (dessert). Come from Mersin, so many other people have no idea what this is.

Its a roll made of semolina and inside it can be nuts like pistachio or walnuts. On top its a cream made from the Kerebic roots that makes a speciall tast, and last some cinnamon dusted on.

Oh Türk kahve, ile az sekerli (Turkish coffe, with little suger) Thats something you have to drink under bayram.

Its being served in mini cups and just taken the foam when its boiling in pot. The result will be that half cup is coffe-grounds (you should not drink that). When you drank the top that is coffe you turn the cup over. Put something that is meaningful for you on the cups bottem, like a ring. Wait untill the cup is cold and lift then it up and try to see your future. Some womans are pretty good on that, me nope!

Thigs that I dont miss is the headache you get in the evening, imagine all those womans talking togeter. OMG!

Herkes Iyi Bayramlar!!

With happyness and sadness I will finish this years oruc.

I learned how to handle my body, how it respond on being with out food or water.

I got stronger psyche then before. Becouse to do oruc is nothing eals then about psycke. So many times people have been sitting infront of me eating, or when I have been baking or cooking. Well thats all psyche! To not put anything in your mouth even that you feel so thirsty and hungry.

Im now standing here on my second year that I did oruc.

I passed 30 days of not eating from dawn to sunset.

Started on 17 hours 22 min, now today Im down at 15 hours 9 min.

Im so proud over my self!! Elhamdulillah!!!

Last year I was just able to do 3 weeks, becouse I was traveling to Turkey.

As one of the rules say in Quran; You cant be oruc if you are on traveling foot.

But the most unbelievable thing is that Im sooo hungry today!! After these 30 days my hunger feeling is starting to come...Its supose to have been the first days...well better to have it the last day!

I feel so sorry for those people that have a weight over 100. Specially the guy that i 24 years old and weight 206,6 kg (456 lbs), it was wonderful to see him walk up over that hill the last time, and those other suported him. Talk about teamwork!

Same time I see this program I feel accerly slim.

My BMI have been always over 30, which means I was more then overweight.

When I started to act as a muslim, I lost 10 kg! I dident go on a diet, I dident exercise more but I lived a healty life.

Now under ramazan I lost 3-5 kg. I feel great!

Today my BMI is under 30, accerly 25,9 so I just passed the line from overweight to normal!!

This year ramazan made me realize I dont need that much food, not any extra.

Specially meat, I rather eat vegetarian or fish and chicken. I absolutly dont eat pork, candy/cakes with gelatine and dont drinking alcohol.

Im just saying, to be that big as they are in Biggest Loser Sverige is no fun at all! I say keep up the good work for a healty life.

For the couple that cant have baby becouse of overweight. Work hard and you will get what you most want!

Allah Kabul Etsin...

I have been trying to cook a Turkish stew, but I dont know. I accerly dont know the recipe just trying to remember how it looked like! Not so easy...

In the end I just put in all diffrent vegetable, onion, paprika, tomato, carrot, potato and peas. I know its supose to be meat in it, so took some chicken and boild it.

So tonights Iftar is gonna be exciting, if it taste bad I dont have any backup. And for me who have been oruc all day should not do this kind of tryouts.

Well I got some yoghurt and homebaked bread if it should be absolutely not edible.

Im half turk right? Oh yeah, I am. So yoghurt and bread should be great!
